Kazaa to charge for downloads
Sunday, October 12, 2003 at 17:22 by Rich Kavanagh
No sooner had Napster annouced they will charge for downloads, than Kazza jumps on the proverbial band wagon.

Sharman Networks who own the worlds largest Peer-to-Peer network, Kazza, have announced they will be following Napsters suit and will be charging people for the music they download.

Payment for music tracks downloaded will be taken by credit card to start with, however Sharman Networks are keen to strike deals with ISP's, so music tracks can be automatically added onto your monthly ISP bill.

Chief Executive of Sharman Networks, Nikki Hemming said,

"The business model offers great hope for the entertainment industry. Kazaa has 5 million simultaneous customers logged into its network at any one time."
