| Manhunt2 set for UK release |
| Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 02:34 by Mark Benson |
It may be more than a year overdue, it may have been banned by the UK authorities but it seems that we are set to see the relaunch of Manhunt 2 in the UK on Halloween. After a success appeal against the earlier ban, Rockstar has made a number of amendments to abide by the latest ruling but it does not seem to have taken the edge and the dark under tones off the game. So will it succeed in the UK?
The original version was banned in the UK because of the extreme violence on show but it has been on release around the world for over a year. Initially many thought that the much publicised ban would increase consumer awareness of the game and the brand but there is a feeling that by waiting so long Rockstar has missed a trick.
The game is not new anymore, it is not as shocking as it once was and there are some who do not believe that UK consumers will flock to a game which they could have acquired overseas if they were that interested. Whether this train of though is correct or just scare mongering by competitors remains to be seen but we will see what happens on Halloween! |

| I dont care what anyone says, Manhunt is a great game,it has you on the edge of your seat with fear and yet youre always waiting to see whats next. I loved hearing starkweathers voice, it was really creepy and yet fun too, i think it makes you more terrified of who your going to bump into in the dark, than turn you into a murderer. Some people just cant see how excitng the games industry can be, they think that games are just for children and forget that adults play them too, i cant wait to get a copy of Manhunt 2.
