Xbox 360 now available for under £100
Saturday, October 04, 2008 at 03:07 by Mark Benson
While the market had yet to digest Microsoft's decision to slash the cost of the Xbox 360 to around £130 it is now available for under £100 at supermarket giant Sainsbury's. The move has shocked hard core gamers who had never expected their prized console to fall to such levels – and it is unlikely to have gone down very well at Microsoft!

The promotion will only last until the 12th October but it is sure to see the consoles flying off the shelves and put the likes of Tesco under severe pressure to follow suit. The move came totally out of the blue although there may well be some method behind the madness!

Sainsbury's did let slip that the games section of the store has been doing a roaring trade of late and the move to attract people into the stores for their cheap Xbox 360 will likely see Sainsbury's making up the short fall when they purchase some of the latest games on offer. However, as if knocking a further £30 off the cost of the Xbox 360 was not enough they have also followed suit with a similar discount on the price of a Nintendo Wii which is available for just £149.97 up until the 12th October.
