Contrary to earlier news, it seems that PS3 gamers in the UK are about to be disappointed as Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and 2 Dual Shock 3 pads (on an 80GB PS3) will not be available in September in the UK as publicised. The first bundle is expected to retail at 449 Euros.
Another bundle, to be released in October (at a cost of 339 Euros) containing a French Blue-ray movie (called Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis), will also not be coming to the UK. The movie was one of the most successful in France apparently and a comedy and provides clues that the second bundle is aimed at the French market.
However, both bundles will be going to mainland Europe. A spokesman said that the UK do not generally do hardware bundles and they would not be offered to the UK market.
Will the bundles make their way to the UK before Christmas? Rumours abound that this is quite likely and that future bundles could contain LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and possibly PES 2009. In the meantime, travel to mainland Europe is relatively quick and cheap – or there is always Ebay!
