Those of a more mature age will probably be aware of the classic show Knight Rider which starred the irrepressible David Hasselhoff. Playing the part of Michael Knight, Hasselhoff was thrust into a world of high tech espionage, thrills and spills with his own talking car which knew what he was going to do before he did!
Now Hasselhoff (a man not known for his modesty) has been commenting upon the fact that his face is known everywhere around the world, from the UK to China from Northern Europe to South Africa and everywhere in between. After checking out the success of MySpace and the services and widgets available to members he has opened up his new social networking site, affectionately called ‘HoffSpace', which is available at www.davidhasselhoff.com.
While this is a bit of a gimmick it has attracted close to 15,000 new members who have affection for either Hasselhoff or his talking car and the numbers are growing. However, yet again this does show the power of social networks on the internet although knowing the reputation of the one and only David Hasselhoff he will no doubt use this new found popularity to push for a recall of Knight Rider – a show which (like his former favourite Bay Watch) he holds the TV rights to! |
