Will Tomb Raider Underworld Do The Trick For Eidos?
Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10:09 by Peter Smith
It has been one of the longest running gaming franchises in the computer industry, it has been ridiculed, loved and hated in similar measures, but is Tomb Raider Underworld a step too far? Has the franchise curled up and died? Not on your life......

The final day of gaming trade show E3 can often be boring with many analyst and journalists on their way home to write about next years games and gaming equipment, but Eidos has certainly left the best until last. While the masses swarmed around the Eidos stand at E3, a select band of gaming journalists were ushered into a small room where the director of Tomb Raider Underworld, Eric Lindstrom was ready to release Tomb Raider Underworld to the world!

Set in the ocean it seems that Lara Croft's father missed out on exploring one of the last known tombs, under the sea. Step forward Lara Croft to take the reins, fighting with sharks, moving further and further into the unknown. While she still has her trusty pistol to hand, she is also armed with a spear, tranquilizer gun and sticky grenades as she sets off on a new adventure.

The game is hot, the graphics are breath taking and a new feature allows players to take a screen shot at any time – something which might be useful when showing your friends how it is done!

Lara Croft may have been around for a while but Tomb Raider Underworld seems to have given the franchise and Eidos a new lease of life – watch out for this excellent game when it hits the shops in the not too distant future.
