| Guns N Roses Set To Release New Single Via Computer Game |
| Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 21:04 by Peter Smith |
In a move which shows how closely the entertainment and gaming industries have become entwined it has been announced that legendary rockers Guns N' Roses will be releasing the first track from their new album as part of the Rock Band 2 computer game. It has also been confirmed that Bob Dylan has also signed up to the new concept allowing the game makers to use his classic Tangled Up On Blue.
While there is no doubt that this is a revolutionary move it will also ensure that the artists are able to bag a very lucrative bonus and perhaps spawn a new legion of fans that may not be aware of their works. Rock Band 2 is the second release of the massively popular game which allows gamers to play along to an array of music with music instrument controllers.
Rock Band 2 will feature 100 songs from a number of prominent artists which include Guns N' Roses, Bob Dylan and AC/DC to name but a few. If the first version of the game is anything to go by then Rock Band 2 has the potential to change the future course of the music industry and finally lock the entertainment and gaming sectors together, with Rock Band 2 joint venture partners Harmonix, Electronic Arts and MTV leading the way. |
