Microsoft has today announced the forthcoming release of an array of Xbox Live Arcade games which even the company describe as its ‘best ever line-up'. Microsoft used its E3 press conference to gain maximum exposure for its new release diary which will include the likes of South Park, Galaga, Geometry Wars and Project Gotham Racing.
While there are even more games to follow over the next few weeks the use of the likes of South Park to attract market attention is a perfect marketing move. This will not be the first South Park game to be released, but Microsoft has promised that this will be the best so far. As the games console companies look to push their machines to the limit the need to drip feed the market with new and exciting adventures has never been more vital.
Microsoft has also used E3 to announce an agreement with Netflix which will see Xbox Gold members, who are members of the Netflix site, receive access to 10,000 movies at no additional cost. This alleviates the need to acquire a Roku's Netflix Player, allowing the movies to be viewed via the Xbox console system. Microsoft has also promised more similar deals in the future, with the main players jockeying for position. |
