As UK based voice recognition company, Voice Commerce, proceeds with the roll out of part two of the company's end to end voice controlled banking system, there is real hope that we may have a system which is both fool proof, cost affective and easily slotted into the everyday shopping systems on the market.
The system is based upon voice recognition and is attracting a great deal of interest from UK banks looking to reduce instances of fraud. Those who sign up for the service will be asked to repeat a group of numbers over the telephone so that the system can record the distinctive aspects of the user's voice.
When retailers join up to the scheme, the shopper will be given a code and telephone number to call which connects them to the central payment system. Asked to repeat a random group of numbers, the system will check that it is the correct person and then ask for the product code. Once the code is relayed to the automated payment system, the funds will be taken from the customer and credited to the retailer.
The system will revolve around a free telephone system which will be widely available once the system gets off the ground, with the added option of users being able to request cash advances via the system – perfect for those left stranded or in desperate need of money. |
