UK Home Secretary John Reid has asked Sony, Apple, and other like manufactures to attend his crime fighting summit.
At a policy review, which was released last month, fingerprint activated MP3 players were proposed. It's believed that if this was implemented, it would lessen street robberies, as iPods and expensive mobile phones are mostly blamed.
“The one piece of advice I'd offer is to manufacturers to help us in designing features to reduce crime,” Reid was quoted saying. “Not just look at the call tones and camera quality, but ask how it can prevent people from stealing and reselling it.”
