124 First Party Nintendo Games To Be Released
Tuesday, May 01, 2007 at 08:57 by Simon Spicer
In hopes of boosting sales, Nintendo has said that the company has 45 new Wii games, and 79 new Nintendo DS games in development.

Nintendo is aiming high with its hopes of doubling global sales of the Wii to 14 million units this year alone.

Since the first release of the Nintendo DS, it has sold over 40 million systems, and 123 million games, and it doesn't want to stop any time soon.

But what does this all mean?

Well, Nintendo is taking up the market, and expanding it, with the Wii and the DS. And the release of so many first party games means that there is less market for third-party support to take up, and less market means less money – and less money means less games with a small budget.

Nintendo could severely injure the gaming market, that's for sure – the only question now is the long term effects of this.
