Apple Release Fix For Macbook Batteries
Monday, April 30, 2007 at 15:08 by Peter Smith

Apple has issued a software update, after admitting that there are issues with the batteries for some MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops.

The company has said, “The factors causing the performance issues do not present a safety risk. You may continue to use your current battery.”

The update should be installed to all MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops that were bought between 2006 and 2007.

How do you know if you might have a defective battery from Apple?

  •  The battery isn't recognized by the laptop.
  •  The battery is visibly deformed
  •  The battery does not hold a charge, and runs down quite quickly.

If you have one of these defects, you can go to your local Apple dealer and they'll replace it for free.
