Mozilla Foundation, the non-profit group will release its latest version of its popular internet browser Firefox.
Firefox 2.0 is released just a few days after Microsoft released the latest version of Internet Explorer 7, the updated version of their own browser.
Mozilla claims that Firefox accounts for up to 30 per cent of the internet browser market share in some territories.
Mozilla will aim to increase their market share with Firefox 2, and the number of downloads currently around 350,000 users a day should increase.
Firefox 2 claims to be more secure than IE7 and will include more protection against "phishing" by telling users when they visit websites that are suspected to be malicious sites designed purely to steel peoples personal details.
Other new features will include an "in-line" spell checker, and a very handy session saving tool, which restores windows and Firefox tabs if the browser (or your pc) crashes. Having had first hand experience of this today it gets a thumbs up from
me.
