Microsoft releases third beta for Internet Explorer 7
Friday, June 30, 2006 at 21:38 by Simon Spicer

Microsoft has released the 3rd beta of its Internet Explorer 7.

This latest release has improved security, compatibility and reliability, as well as some new features

"Beta 3 also contains all the security fixes addressed in the June security bulletin, so we encourage all Beta 2 users to upgrade to Beta 3," said Dean Hachamovitch, general manager for Internet Explorer at Microsoft

Beta 3 is currently only available for Windows XP, although a Vista compatible version will be included in the next beta release of the new operating system.

The final version of IE7 is expected to be available in the second half of the year.

Actually a lot doesn't work in the new IE :(!. Here's what I can think of right now: - Hyperlinks in outlook express emails don't work. - It practically forced me to run a quicktime active x update saying that the website I was visiting had requested it, which it had not (what's that all about?). - it's very difficult to roll back to an earlier version of IE. - you have to have windows genuine (dis)advantage before installing it.
