NVIDIA brings High Definition to your pc
Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 15:26 by Darren Chew

NVIDIA have recently revealed its latest graphics technology. The new NVIDIA PureVideo technology is said to bring the High-Definition home theatre experience to your PC.

The NVIDIA website says:-

'Available on HD DVDs and Blu-ray discs, high-definition movies are bringing an exciting new video experience to PC users. NVIDIA® PureVideo™ HD technology lets you enjoy cinematic-quality HD DVD and Blu-ray movies with low CPU utilization and power consumption, allowing higher quality movie playback and picture clarity. PureVideo HD technology provides a combination of powerful hardware acceleration, content security, and integration with movie players, plus all the features found in PureVideo'.

The introduction of HD video to the PC will mean you can watch amazing ultra-smooth video on your desktop pc and even on the move using a laptop. The HD technology offers high quality image scaling, video colour correction, LCD sharpening and integrated SD and HDTV output allowing you to connect your standard definition or high definition TV using all available TV connections including DVI and HDMI. It also offers a resolution of up to 1080p depending on the connection type and quality of TV capability.

With the price of High-Definition televisions dropping rapidly its not going to be long till a lot of people have a high definition television whether they want one or not. Unfortunately the high definition TV source is still rather expensive. Could this offer another use for the HDMI socket on the back of your television other then plugging in an Xbox 360. With a massive list of products supporting the new PureVideo it could well do.

Today's consumers demand a high-definition (HD) home theater experience on their PC. They want superb picture clarity, stutter-free playback and multiple display connectivity options. The best way to achieve this is with NVIDIA® PureVideo™ technology.
