Microsoft to release 360 Dashboard update
Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 11:45 by Peter Smith
Microsoft will this week release an update to the xbox360 dashboard, this update will include a host of new features. The download will be relatively small and will work on both the core and premium packages.

The major feature of this update is the ability to download marketplace content in the background, currently a user has to watch the current download with no option to exit, with game demos hitting nearly a gigabyte downloads can take hours. Thanks to the upgrade a user can place a download in the background and carry on gaming, there is also the option to queue up to 6 downloads at a time.

Reports suggest that the queue feature will automatically pause when you play online games and re-start when you quit.

Other features in the update include:

  • DVD Bookmarks
  • Improved audio playback
  • Option to boot directly to dashboard on power up
  • Changes to menu structure

Keep your eyes peeled for this update coming to an xbox360 near you soon.
