Sega aims high in the gaming sector once again
Friday, May 19, 2006 at 10:27 by Darren Chew
Sega has once again set its sights on being one of the major players in the computer gaming market. Sega, the company responsible for 90's iconic classics such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Virtua Fighter, are once again trying to get to the forefront of gaming by reinventing itself and trying to build once again on such iconic classics of there past.

Sega have had a rocky history over the last few years. In 2001 Sega stopped production and future development of all games consoles and decided to specialise in game development. In 2003 Sega were taken over by Japanese company Sammy, but now there back and hoping to claim there share of the market against some of the biggest names in the gaming industry such as Activision, EA and Ubisoft.

The future could be bright once again for Sega. They have now started making games for the likes of Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, with rumours of them trying to break in to the mobile phone and portable gaming market. Good luck to Sega I say... Hopefully it won't be long till we get to play some more great games with even more great characters.
