Responding to the cries of millions of Xbox 360 owners, Microsoft and Rockstar Games, the publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, have struck a groundbreaking agreement that brings "Grand Theft Auto IV" to the Xbox 360 platform on day one of its global release.
"Grand Theft Auto IV," the next-generation console debut of the genre-defining "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, is expected to be in stores on Oct. 16, 2007, in North America and Oct. 19, 2007, in Europe.
"Few franchises have had the profound impact on our industry as 'Grand Theft Auto,'" said Microsoft's Peter Moore. "Gamers can't wait to play 'Grand Theft Auto IV' in high definition on Xbox 360, and we couldn't be more excited to have the title on our platform from day one."
The game will be simultaneously released on the PS3, this marks the first time a GTA title has been available on the Xbox platform on its release date. |

| this is a load of bull!!!!!!! GTA games are supposed 2 b 4 Sony only. it doesn't matter though, da PS3 version will b way bettr anyway. |

| not surprising really. Microsoft have a lot of clout, and whether you're hanging on for the PS3 or not, the xbox360 is the current high water mark |

| I used to be a playstation man all the way, i hated the xbox.
Then the xbox 360 came out, and despite wanting to hate it i love it.
I will still get a playstation 3 when they come out, so whatever platform the games come out on first does not bother me too much (although GTA was one of the main reasons i bought a ps2, so Sony might be hurt a little by this decision)
You do have to take your hat off to Microsoft (even if you hate em ;)) they entered into the console market and were laughed at, but they plugged at it, corrected their mistakes and have done a good job on their second console. (in my humble opinion) |
