Google are to add yet another string to there search engine bow. They have recently introduced a Google Health service. The new health service is there to help Google users identify possible health problems they may have or may not have. The Google Health page which is linked in to the normal Google search engine has an extensive list of medical categories offering advice on everything from 'Addictions' to 'Fitness and 'Aging' to 'weight loss'.
With lots of medical information available to users on the internet will Google Health ever replace the role of the common GP? Personally I don't think so, but a service to help deal with small medical problems and irritations is a step in the right direction, although wrong diagnosis is always a large problem with these services. Will we become a nation of panicking self diagnosing patients; my only advice with this type of thing is don't believe everything you read on the internet. Go and get a professional opinion.
