Today sees the "Landrush Phase" of the .eu domain tld take place. From 10am (GMT +1) anyone within the EU will be able to register their own .eu internet domain name.
Up until today this process has been limited to "Sunrise Applications" Meaning EU trademark holders and more recently people wishing to register their company or family names.
During this time over 300,000 applications have been received by the registry (EURid). Industry experts expect to see over 1,000,000 registrations by the end of today.
According to the EURid website anyone interested in registering a .eu domain name needs to get in contact with one of more than 1000 accredited .eu registrars who will assist you.
