Nintendo's next generation console finally named?
Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 15:19 by Andy Holliday
Ninetndo's next generation games console - codenamed Revolution - could finally have a new name, that's if two images that have been leaked on the internet are anything to go by.

Nintendo Go is the touted name, which could have an air of authenticity surrounding it as Go = Five in Japanese and the next console will be Nintendo's fifth.

We wouldn't put our mortgages on it just yet as we remember that when Nintendo launched the Gamecube, strong rumours were circulating that it was to be called the Starcube!

It could also end up being still called the Revolution which we kind of like having referred to it as that for the past year.

IGN's interview triple checked. Revolution is NOT the final name. Period.

Shame, they should have stuck with Revolution, sounds much better than 'Go', but then I guess its a little bit samey when the Xbox is called Xbox 360 - 1 Full Revolution etc.... Ah well.

Yes, I liked Revolution too. I already had commercials running through my head featuring the Beatles song. Damn, all I can think of for Go is the Inspector Gadget song, which now that I think of it, would be quite fitting "Go! Gadget! Go!...do do da do do da do do da do do"
