Monthly patch update from Microsoft
Friday, December 16, 2005 at 14:01 by Laurence Norah
Microsoft's monthly patch release has resolved two known vulnerabilities, one of which was rated as critical by Microsoft.

The critical flaw, described by Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-054, is within the Internet Explorer web browser, and if exploited has the potential to allow remote code execution. It affects all versions of Windows running Internet Explorer 5.01 or later. Which would be pretty much everyone's PC these days.

The patch is available via the Microsoft automatic update system, or from the Windows Update site, and it is highly recommended that you install the patch urgently, even if you are not an IE user.
