Google launch Google Video player
Monday, June 27, 2005 at 20:52 by Laurence Norah
We reported at the beginning of the year on the Google Video service, which allowed users to search through the content of television programmes for information .

A couple of months ago, Google allowed users to start uploading their own videos to their system, and today they have announced the availability of the Google Video Viewer, which allows users to watch videos on the Google Video site from the archive of uploaded material.

We aren't sure how much value this adds to the Google search engine, but presumably given Google's plan to index all of the world's information, this was just the next logical step. Give it a try at the Google Video home page.
