Sex chatrooms closed by Yahoo over kid safety
Friday, June 24, 2005 at 16:18 by Andy Holliday
Massively popular Internet portal Yahoo! has this week closed down all user-created chat rooms over concerns that children may be being 'groomed' by Adults on the internet.

Rooms that are created by Yahoo! remain open however, but the user rooms - which allegedly had titles such as "Girls 13 And Up For Much Older Men" were listed under an education section - have all been shut.

It had recently been reported that major advertisers had pulled their adverts after discovering that some of their ads appeared on rooms that were aimed at sex with children.
