Woman sues Yahoo over nude pictures
Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 20:51 by Andy Holliday
Yahoo Inc. is being sued for $3 million by an Oregon woman after alleging that the popular Internet site failed to remove nude photographs of her.

Cecilia Barnes who is 48 claims in the lawsuit that her former boyfriend undertook a campaign to post unauthorised profiles of her including her telephone number and e-mail address.

The lawsuit also alleges that her ex-boyfriend pretended he was Barnes by engaging in online discussions in Yahoo chatrooms and directing various men to the profiles.

According to the lawsuit, strangers would arrive at Barnes' work address anticipating sexual relations with her.

Barnes also says she contacted Yahoo back in January demanding the profiles be removed and her further demands the following months did not obtain a response.

Yahoo Inc. would only say on the matter:
"We do not comment on pending litigation"
