Monday, April 11, 2005 at 14:42 by Kathleen Hill
ICANN, the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers, have announced the designation of two new sponsored Top-Level Domains (sTLDs), .JOBS and .TRAVEL.

The ICANN Board approved the designation at the 22nd ICANN International Conference in Mar del Plata, Argentina on Friday. The sponsoring registry operators are Employ Media and Tralliance Corporation.

As the process for selecting new sponsored Top Level Domains continues from a pool of ten applications, ICANN has already entered into commercial and technical negotiations with the following additional candidate registries, .CAT, .POST and .MOBI.

Discussions continue among ICANN Board and Staff regarding the evaluation of five additional proposed sponsored Top Level Domains, .ASIA, .MAIL, .TEL and .XXX
