Firefox exceeds 25 million downloads

The Mozilla Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the popular web browser Firefox, have announced its award-winning browser has been downloaded more than 25 million times.

Released back in November last year, Firefox has quickly become a serious contender for Internet Explorer.

Mitchell Baker, president of the Mozilla Foundation said,

"Twenty five million Firefox downloads is a significant achievement, and we see that number continuing to grow. Firefox is being rapidly adopted by the mainstream, with this audience embracing Firefox as a more user-friendly web browsing solution."

Mozilla Foundation volunteers have translated the Firefox browser into twenty eight different languages, ensuring user around the world have access to the Firefox browser.
