| Sony PSP may be delayed in Europe |
| Friday, February 04, 2005 at 17:41 by Laurence Norah |
On the same day that the Sony PSP's launch date was confirmed for the United States, it has come to light that the consoles appearance in Europe may be delayed due to stock shortages.
This is not the first time the handheld console has been delayed. Originally slated for a worldwide Christmas 2004 release, Sony held off from releasing the PSP in order to ensure adequate software titles would be available. That is no longer a problem, with over 24 titles now available for the PSP.
It would now seem that Sony will either be delaying the Sony PSP in Europe until they have sufficient quantities to ship, or they will be releasing them to selected markets only. Limited availability will no doubt drive prices up, with firms specialising on imports likely to do well. No confirmed European date has been announced by Sony, when it is we'll let you know.

| Try to get an XBOX in the US if you think this is going to be bad. |

Should have expected this with the HUGE numbers they shifted in Japan etc. And the American market will eat these things up too. EU last again :-\ |

|
| Hmmm, stock shortages eh? Nothing like telling people they cant get one to drive up pre order sales. Me, cynical? |
