Amazon let slip Sony PSP delivery date
Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 23:35 by Rich Kavanagh
Online retail giant Amazon have let slip the shipping date of the new Sony PSP handheld gaming machine.

With a price tag of £179.99 ($338.57), Amazon UK are taking pre-orders now and have announced a delivery date of 18th March 2005.

In the past, Sony have been somewhat reluctant to confirm a date, Amazon however seem pretty sure, saying:

"This item will be released on March 18, 2005. You may order it now and we will dispatch it to you when we receive it from our supplier."

The price tag of $338 is somewhat high, in Japan the PSP is selling for only $193.

Sales of the PSP should be aided by Take-Two Interactive Software recently announcing development of a PSP version of popular game Grand Theft Auto.

Its nice how you make it sound like amazon know what they are talking about, but all amazon have done is made a guess. the high price is to make sure they arent going to have to increase it if sony do.

and the release date says "subject to change" so its not a leak its a guess, and pre-ordering from amazon would be useless becuase you would be at the arse end of a 100s long list.

UK government and EU should act now to prevent EU and UK consumers paying more than anyone else.

umm well it was a nice thought but i think the uk will be lucky if qwe get a sniff of a psp launch before may. Just my feeling my advice would be to go for a us import but then you will have problems with the region coding.... __________________________________ www.ballofodd.co.uk - everything PSP
