Apple have finally got around to rolling out their rather succesful online music store, iTunes, in the EU. Previously already available in the US, the UK, France and Germany, this new roll out means that iTunes is now also available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
Apple believe that this means that iTunes is now accessible to around 70 percent of the global music market. Clearly China, the African nations, Australia and the rest of the world are less into music than we may have suspected.
Still, great news for those users in the newly added countries who were no doubt wandering around wondering how to fill up their iPod's in a safe and legal manner. The EU iTunes store features over 700,000 tracks from four of the major music companies, as well as over 100 independant record labels. This will add to Apple's already quite impressive balance sheet, and we look forward to seeing how they intend to spend all this money they are suddenly making.
