Nintendo Europe chief quits
Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 17:05 by Craig Beaumont
In a shock move today, David Gosen, the Managing Director of Nintendo Europe, has announced that he’ll be resigning from the post and taking up a new position at games distributor Digital Bridges as Chief Operating Officer.

Gosen was responsible for the launch of the GameCube, GBA and GBA:SP and has been with Nintendo for five years. It is expected for Nintendo to promote Jim Merrick to the senior director role when Gosen leaves.

In a statement, Satoru Shibata, the president of Nintendo Europe, said:

"David has made a huge contribution to Nintendo over the last five years and we would like to thank him for all his hard work and wish him all the success in the future."
