Online music download firm Music Rebellion have announced they are to sell tracks for download for as little as ten cents each.
This is eighty nine cents cheaper than their rival, Napster.
Music Rebellion's parent firm Digonex Technologies have introduced a demand driven pricing model that allows prices for tracks to fluctuate according to demand.
The more popular a song, the cheaper it gets, quite simple really, but at the same time, very effective.
Jeremy Eglen, Vice President of Licensing and Operations at Digonex Technologies said,
"Our behaviourally based download model is predicated on the belief that the public will purchase music legally when given a fair price, a quality product, and an easy to use system. The platform that we are demonstrating today gives consumers the opportunity to participate in setting fair prices while also knowing that all artists and stakeholders are receiving their just royalties."
Music Rebellion also say that 99% of their tracks are transportable. Unlike certain other music download services (that shall remain nameless), the songs from Music Rebellion can be burnt to CDROM or moved to a MP3 player with no trouble at all.
