Sun Cobalt servers bite the dust
Thursday, January 01, 2004 at 20:55 by Rich Kavanagh
Sun Microsystems have announced they're to stop developing their Cobalt range of servers.

Their popular RAQ and Qube servers are now appearing in the End Of Life section of the Sun website.

The base model server you can now buy from Sun, is part of the Sun Fire series.

Sun paid $2 billion dollars for server manufacturer Cobalt Networks around two years ago and have since then almost dominated the web server market with their RAQ range of products.

Sun have confirmed they will honour any outstanding warranties on Cobalt equipment for up to three years.
