Nintendo have released figures that state they have shipped a total of 10 million GameBoy Advances across Europe to be sold in stores. The SP version of the GBA accounted for 3 million of these, with Nintendo intending to sell more of their handhelds on the back of some strong software titles this Christmas.
The rumours of a price cut of the current hardware seem unfounded at the moment, but as you can pick up a GameCube for the price of its handheld brother, it was expected that the price of the GBA would be dropped to keep it in line in the run up to Christmas.
The price may yet fall when Nintendo, who currently dominate the handheld market, face stiff competition from Sony next year when the final design of its PSP console is revealed in May.
